What Is Smash Talk?
Smash Talk is a funny couples game inside the Spark’d app where you and your spouse each get the same prompt on your own phone and race the clock to come up with the wittiest answer. You can play a standard version, a romantic and risqué version, or a spicy mix of both, so it fits whatever vibe you’re feeling that night.
The whole goal is simple: see who has the best quips.
There are no right answers. No pressure. Just one question: who’s funnier?
Where to Find Smash Talk in the Spark’d App
- Both of you download the Spark’d app on your own phones. Smash Talk is played on two phones, one for him and one for her.
- Pair with your spouse using your sync code, if you haven’t already.
- Tap the Games tab.
- Scroll down until you see Smash Talk.
- One of you starts a new game. It will pop up on your spouse’s phone automatically, so only one person needs to hit start.
That’s it. No printing, no prep, no supplies. Just the two of you and your phones.
How to Play Smash Talk
1. Pick your vibe
Whoever starts the game chooses from three versions:
- 😂 Standard: witty, clean humor for a lighthearted night.
- 🔥 Sexy: more romantic and risqué, for when the kids are asleep.
- 🌶️ Spicy Mix: a little of both, so you never know what’s coming next.
2. Beat the clock
You’ll both see the same prompt on your phones at the same time. Then the timer starts, and you only get a few seconds to type out your wittiest quip. No time to overthink it. Go for the one-liner. Go for the pun. Go for the answer that makes your spouse groan and laugh at the same time.
One of our prompts was: “Why is it really called the missionary position?” And let’s just say… the answers did not disappoint. (My husband’s: “Because you’ll be converted!!”)
3. Rex picks the funniest answer
Once you’ve both answered, Rex decides whose quip wins. And at the end of the game, he picks his favorite answer out of the whole game. Here was ours:
Q: “What’s the worst thing to yell in a quiet library?”
A: “Do you hear the voices too?!”
Bragging rights are officially on the line.
