Who says a date has to be just one night? The “Our Love Is…” date splits your time together into three meaningful parts — you can spread them across three smaller dates, or string them together into one perfect all-day date. Each part is built around something to celebrate about your relationship: Organic, Breathtaking, and Hot. It’s a relaxed, reconnecting day of reminiscing, getting outdoors, and enjoying each other. Here’s how to make it your own!

Our Love Is… Organic
Start the day at your local farmers market. Almost every town has one, big or small, and they’re full of more than just produce — you’ll find handmade crafts, art, baked goods, flowers, and all kinds of local treasures. Wander together and soak it in.

To make it a game, turn it into a scavenger hunt: write up a list of things to find (a purple vegetable, something handmade, a free sample, the prettiest bouquet, a food you’ve never tried) and see how many you can check off. A huge thanks to Aileen of Lil’ Buckaroo Designs, who created a darling farmers market printable — or just jot your own list on a notecard. For a sweet twist, each of you pick one item that best represents your relationship, then share why. (It’s always good for a laugh — and a few happy tears!)
Our Love Is… Breathtaking
For part two, head somewhere with a view. Go for a short hike to a scenic overlook, or return to a spot that holds meaning for the two of you — where you had your first date, got engaged, or shared a memorable moment. No special spot yet? Find a new one close to home and make a memory there. The goal is simply some quiet time together to reminisce about your story and whisper a few sweet nothings.

Pick a place that’s easy to get to — even a nearby lookout, park bench, or rooftop at sunset works beautifully. Bonus points if you can watch the city lights come on in the evening.
Our Love Is… Hot
End the day around a bonfire! Bring along classic campfire fare — hot dogs, chips, cold drinks, and all the s’mores fixings — and invite another couple or two to join if you’d like. There’s something about a fire, good food, and great company that keeps a marriage fresh and fun. Trade “back in the day” stories and just enjoy each other.
Can’t get to a fire pit? Make it a night in! Grill up some hot dogs, pour your drinks, and make s’mores right at home with a microwave s’mores maker — then watch the sunset together. No fire required!

Our Love Is Date FAQs
It’s a three-part date built around things to celebrate about your relationship: Organic (a farmers market scavenger hunt), Breathtaking (a hike or a visit to a meaningful overlook), and Hot (a bonfire or at-home s’mores). You can do all three in one all-day date or split them into three shorter dates throughout the month.
Break the day into a few distinct parts so it stays fresh: a morning or midday outing (like a farmers market), an afternoon adventure with a view, and a cozy evening around a fire. Keep each part low-key and build in downtime, and you’ll have a relaxed, memorable day without overplanning.
Wander the stalls together, sample local treats, and pick up something fresh for later. To make it a game, bring a scavenger-hunt list of things to find—a handmade item, a new-to-you food, the prettiest bouquet—and each choose one item that best represents your relationship, then share why.
Bring the bonfire indoors! Grill or microwave some hot dogs, pour cold drinks, and make s’mores with an indoor or microwave s’mores maker. Pair it with a sunset view or a cozy movie and you’ve got the same warm, relaxed vibe without an actual fire.

Love the great ideas!!! but my first thought when I saw the suggestion for “Our love is … HOT” was “AHHH!!!! HAVE YOU NOT BEEN ON PINTREST AND SEEN ALL THE COOL THINGS YOU COULD MAKE WITH THOSE?! THOSE PALLETS HAD SUCH POTENTIAL!”
Tina – LOL, I know, I know… I love all of the pallet projects that have come out!! But don’t you worry, the pallets we used cannot be used for any type of craft. Our friend’s family owns a gas station and those pallets were soaked through with diesel fuel… which is why they were perfect for burning, but you definitely wouldn’t want to turn them into anything else.
Love all the ideas I see on here, but I’m noticing that I see an awful lot of kids on date nights! Was just wondering because I wouldn’t consider that a date as much as I would consider that family time..do you all take your kids on dates often? Is it because you don’t have good sitters where you are? Just curious!
Haha, no, Kari, I totally agree with you! We actually had to take our kids on the first two parts of this date because our sitter fell through and I had a replacement, but not until we did the bonfire later in the evening. For us I consider date night — time alone with my man, but sometimes that doesn’t always happen for us so we make the best of it and bring the kids along. Great question, btw!
All of my friends made so much fun of me for making my husband ask me to be his girlfriend! I’m so glad you mentioned that you made him ask you too! It was a really sweet, memorable moment for us, as well.
Lol, everyone laughs at me too! That is so funny! I had never made a guy do that before him..so I guess I just knew he was special and wanted it to be memorable. Good story to look back on, huh!?
Cute date Kari, I LOVE farmers Markets!!! And havent been yet… thanks for the reminder. 🙂
Thanks Kari for such a cute idea. We’ve never gone to the Farmers Market here but we will now and use your ideas. 😉
Thanks Aimee! Who would’ve thought a Farmer’s Market for a date, huh? lol, It’s actually a kick in the pants b/c it’s all about who you’re with {wink, wink}
