Valentine’s Day may be over, but the lovin’ doesn’t have to stop! Any holiday is a good excuse to add a little spice to your marriage — and this one just might make St. Patrick’s Day the steamiest holiday of the year. Inspired by our 12 Days of Christmas Punch Poster, this “Feeling Lucky?” punch poster is a flirty, DIY St. Patrick’s date where you are the prize. Your spouse punches through a lucky cup from each category to reveal their surprise.

How the “Feeling Lucky?” Punch Poster Works

Where the Christmas punch poster hides little sweets and treats, this one takes things straight to the bedroom. After you build the poster, your spouse punches through one covered cup from each of four categories, and whatever combination they land on comes true:

  • What — maybe a sensual massage, an edible treat, or a sexy surprise.
  • Where — location, location, location! A few options to mix up the usual routine.
  • When — tonight, a middle-of-the-night surprise, or (if they’re lucky) right now.
  • Wearing — tuck an intimate clothing item in the cup, or leave it empty… that gets the message across too!

With lots of combinations and the adorable printables designed by Leah Aldous Designs, everything’s ready for you. And depending on your sweetheart’s lucky streak, this one can stretch across several fun nights.

What You’ll Need

  • Poster board or foam board (foam lets it stand on its own)
  • 12 plastic cups
  • A pencil
  • An X-Acto knife or scissors
  • 12 rubber bands
  • Green tissue paper or wrapping paper
  • Tape
  • Our printable “Feeling Lucky?” cards and trim (download below)

How to Make Your Punch Poster

  1. If you’re using foam board, carefully slice halfway through the center (not all the way) and fold it so the poster stands on its own.
  2. Turn the 12 cups upside down, arrange them how you’d like, and trace each rim with a pencil.
  3. Inside each traced circle, draw “pie” lines and cut along the lines (not around the circle) — those wedges hold each cup in place. Test-fit a cup.
  4. Fill each cup with one card, keeping them grouped by category (all the What cards together, etc.). For the Wearing cups, add an outfit suggestion or leave it empty.
  5. Cover each cup with tissue or wrapping paper and secure with a rubber band around the rim.
  6. Set the covered cups into their holes, then add the decorative category signs, round clovers, and your “Feeling Lucky?” header and directions.

Feeling Lucky Punch Poster FAQs

What is a “Feeling Lucky?” punch poster?

It’s a flirty, DIY St. Patrick’s Day date: a poster of tissue-covered cups grouped into categories (What, Where, When, and Wearing). Your spouse punches through one cup from each category to reveal a surprise romantic combination for the two of you.

How do you make a punch poster?

Arrange 12 plastic cups on foam or poster board, trace and cut ‘pie-slice’ holes to hold them, drop a prompt card in each cup, cover each with tissue paper and a rubber band, then set them in the holes and add your signs and decorations. Your spouse punches through to find the surprise inside.

What do you put in a couples punch poster?

For a romantic version, fill the cups with intimate prompt cards sorted into categories like What (a massage, a treat, a surprise), Where, When, and Wearing — and tuck a little lingerie item into the ‘Wearing’ cups, or leave them empty for a cheeky hint.

Is the punch poster only for St. Patrick’s Day?

Not at all! The ‘Feeling Lucky?’ theme is perfect for St. Patrick’s, but the same punch-poster concept works year-round. There’s also a sweet, family-friendly 12 Days of Christmas version for the holidays.
