Why This Makes Such a Sweet Easter Gift
Store-bought Easter gifts are easy to forget. A handmade one with notes in your own words? That’s the kind of thing a spouse keeps. This little bouquet is inexpensive, surprisingly quick to make, and endlessly customizable—sweet and sentimental, playful and flirty, or somewhere in between. It doubles as cheerful spring decor, and you can even stretch it into a week-long countdown to Easter. If you love the idea of leaving little notes for your spouse, you’ll also want our big collection of love notes and free printables.
What You’ll Need
- 1 clear plastic candy pail
- 7–10 wooden skewers (6-inch worked great)
- 7–10 plastic Easter eggs (a mix of larger and smaller sizes)
- Egg note printables (see below)
- Jellybeans, Skittles, or M&M’s — your spouse’s favorite
- Scissors
- Ribbon

For the notes, you can use the darling Easter egg printables designed by Leah Aldous (including a “Somebunny Loves You” banner), or grab ready-to-go notes from our 80+ love notes & free printables. Print your set, then cut out each egg note and the banner.

How to Make an Easter Egg Bouquet
- Place the banner inside the plastic pail, front and center. The paper often wraps around the inside edge snugly—no tape required.
- Fill the pail with your spouse’s favorite candy. For extra flair, tie ribbon to each side of the handle.
- Here’s the fun part: pick the notes you want to surprise your spouse with and tuck one inside each empty plastic egg.
- Attach the eggs to the wooden skewers (the pointed end fits right into the hole in the bottom of the egg).
- Add any extra embellishments you like, such as more ribbon.
- Arrange the egg-topped skewers in the pail—the candy holds everything upright like a bouquet.

Fun Ways to Customize It
- Mix egg sizes. Tuck notes into the larger eggs and candy into the smaller ones.
- Add a little spice. Hide a flirty or intimacy-focused surprise in one egg for a date night later—a few ideas from our guide to spicing things up work perfectly.
- Turn it into a countdown. Make one egg for each day leading up to Easter and let your spouse open one per day.
- Finish the look. A little crinkle-cut paper shred on top makes it look extra polished (totally optional).

Short on Time? Try This
No time for the full bouquet? No problem. Use the printable notes on their own: sprinkle the cute sayings around the house for a quick Easter scavenger hunt, or turn one note into a little candy container as a grab-and-go surprise. Even a single sweet note tucked in your spouse’s bag or on the bathroom mirror makes their morning. The possibilities are endless!

Easter Egg Bouquet FAQs
Fill the plastic eggs with little love notes, your spouse’s favorite candy (jellybeans, Skittles, or M&Ms), and even a small romantic or flirty surprise. Anchor the eggs on skewers in a candy-filled pail so it looks like a bouquet your spouse can unwrap one egg at a time.
A homemade love note Easter egg bouquet is a sweet, inexpensive, and personal Easter gift. It combines candy, a flower-like presentation, and heartfelt (or flirty) notes your spouse can open one by one — far more memorable than anything store-bought.
Fill a clear pail with candy, tuck love notes and treats into plastic eggs, skewer the eggs onto wooden sticks, and stand them in the candy so they pop up like flowers. Add ribbon and crinkle paper to finish. Start to finish, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes.
Yes! Make one egg for each day leading up to Easter and let your spouse open one per day. It’s a fun, romantic way to build anticipation and spread the love across the whole week.
We hope you love this DIY craft that doubles as a sweet (and easy!) Easter gift for your spouse. Happy crafting—and happy Easter! 🐰
